Janet Jackson is making serious headlines for seemingly questioning the blackness of Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. During an interview with The Guardian, she was asked about Harris possibly becoming the first black woman president. Janet responded: "Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not black." She adds: "That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian. Her father’s white. That’s what I was told." Very bizarre statements coming from a (media trained) Black female icon who herself also had to fight to transcend racial barriers.
Editor's note: The interview was conducted weeks before the untimely passing of her beloved brother Tito Jackson.
