Jill Scott slammed for praising Chris Brown...

Jill Scott's own mother was a victim of domestic violence. It is why a lot of social media users aren't quite understanding why she is defending and praising Chris Brown who previously beat up his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

If Scott thinks Brown is talented, there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of people share the same sentiments. The people that buy his records and propel his songs to chart, the fans that allow him to have a career, would also agree with her. And if she enjoys his music, that is also her right to do so. But it is actually her rebuttal to the criticism that has people wondering if Scott is actually in her right mind. A tweeter replied that his victims wouldn’t agree with her remarks, and Jill pretty much said, "my mother’s ex husband beat my mama black and blue BUT he was still amazing!"

  1. I actually understand what she’s saying. The way I read it was yes this person is a horrible person BUT that does not take away from their talent. She’s basically staying in some many words I don’t have a heaven or hell to place you in so I will let GOD handle that part. I’m honestly over everyone bringing up Chris past and the whole Rihanna situation at this point. They were TEENS when that happened. Rihanna has verbally stated that she forgave him a long time ago. You can’t sit at home and be made more than the victim. If Rih moved on then so can we. I honestly feel like people simply just don’t like them so they bring up that stuff whenever they can. When these other people do WAYYYY worse and skates by with no harm. It’s sad to see a talented person never reach that level that they could because of their past mistakes.

  2. I get what she’s saying too - the write up makes it worse than what was actually conveyed.

  3. Quite frankly he's a trash ass human but that doesn't take away from his talent. Rihanna fully got back with him after the abuse so who am I to be more angry than the actual victim. I just ignore him and avoid him if possible.
