Chlöe Bailey's A&R and management team are a trip. Her debut album flopped horribly, and Beyoncé didn't even fart on it. Notably, an Instagram shout-out was missing in action.
The sex kitten route was very forced and did not help Chlöe's career at all. So now she's back with her sophomore album ‘Trouble In Paradise,’ which she announced at Coachella over the weekend. She's released a pop single called ‘Boy Bye’ which sounds like it could easily have come from Taylor Swift's play book. I hope her label (in the way of Tinashe) are not forcing her to release generic pop songs just because her urban bid failed.
The song is generic but that doesn't mean it's bad. It has a catchy and light hearted vibe to it. And if she was going to go this route, she should have started with it first and cultivated a girl next door image. Maybe she would have had better success. Overall, it is good to see her experimenting with different sounds.
