Ariana Grande’s comeback single "yes, and?" reportedly interpolates "Vogue" by Madonna...

Madonna wouldn’t clear a sample if she knew it wouldn’t be done justice. Only a certain list of elite artists get that honor and Beyoncé was one of them (the “Break My Soul” Queen Mix). Having that honor is also huge so Ariana Grande fans are actually quite hopeful. It is being reported that her comeback single "yes, and?" heavily interpolates the pop icon's 1990 mega hit "Vogue." The song, produced by Ariana, Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, is due to drop in two days. 1990 was also the era Madonna served major shock value and reached the highest level of super stardom. Of course her impact on music and culture is beyond anything we can discuss. So who knows, perhaps Ari is taking notes and is set to embark on her most rebellious era yet.

My only problem with this generation “interpolating” songs like Vogue, they use the same production, same beat, and put diff lyrics on it. It’s the main reason I can’t stand that Lil Boo Thang song. If you’re going to interpolate someone else’s #1 song, put your own spin on it and I hope you get the same success as the original. Btw Toya, Xtina’s song Glam is how you do a Vogue-inspired song.
