Beyoncé’s "Renaissance" tour becomes the fifth highest-grossing concert film...

Beyoncé's concert film "Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé" has surpassed $1.9 million in US theaters and drawing over $30.8 million since its release on December 1st. The highly-anticipated concert film is listed as the fifth highest-grossing concert film worldwide. Taylor Swift, who released her "Eras" tour concert film in October, currently holds the No. 1 spot with a record breaking box office collection of $179.2 million. Oop! Taylor totally obliterated her numbers. Perhaps she should have included those "Renaissance" visuals as initially reported?

  1. Come on. Paint a balanced picture. Because of release schedules, ABC told Beyonce the film could either release on 1st Dec or be scheduled for a Spring 2024 release. Not wanting to lose the momentum of the tour she stuck with 1st Dec. Problem is the weekend immediately after Thanksgiving is traditionally an anaemic weekend for Box Office sales. No films do well here. That's a key point your reporting omitted. Case in point, this Renaissance film is the 2nd highest grossing film released in the Post Thanksgiving weekend in the entirety of US box Office history. Not saying the film would've beat Taylors film in gross, but it would've done a lot better on another weekend. Context is key.

    1. All of this is true, however, Taylor Swift promoted hers during the Kansas City Chiefs games that drew in over 20 Million viewers. Beyonce promoted hers during the Thanksgiving Day Parade on top of what you stated.

Now, Renaissance film didn't have a budget, so they didn't lose any money! Taylor Swift Eras Tour film had a $20 Million budget & it raked in over $200 Million. So both films made bank!

    2. Pitting two women against each other? Haven’t we moved on from that? Taylor and Beyoncé clearly have a lot of respect for each other, so why does it have to be a competition?
