If you want to get anywhere in life, you have to be extra, even if it's "too extra", because being timid and quiet gets you nowhere. You too could have been that annoying theater kid who eventually became one of the biggest popstars on the planet, a multiple time Grammy winner and an Oscar winning actress. I would rather that be my fate than to become a divorcee and a single mom, and even worse, to become known as just “Lady Gaga’s disgruntled former classmate.” During a recent appearance on Jason Tartick's Trading Secrets podcast, Gaga’s former NYU classmate Carly Waddell says she wasn’t a fan of her because she was “too extra” and would belt songs from ‘Wicked’ during lunchtime.
From Entertainment Weekly:
“[We] would eat in a dance studio," Waddell recalled. "And there was a piano, and [Gaga] would sit at the piano every single day and just play and sing Wicked at the top of her lungs every day. And we were all just trying to eat lunch. It was break time, and we were all forced to listen to her. And yes, was she good? Of course! She was great, but I just wanted to eat my sandwich. And so I used to just eat in the hallway because she was driving me crazy.”
She was literally living every fan's dream, but at the time, she just didn't know it yet. LMAO! She really did become that very disgruntled classmate to sit in a random podcast decades later to complain about getting a free Gaga concert while eating a sandwich.
