Kandi Burruss defends Justin Timberlake & says people should “leave him alone.”

Over the past few weeks, Justin Timberlake has found himself on many people's sh*tlists. And it all started after Britney Spears revealed some bombshells in her memoir "Woman In Me," and such bombshells didn't paint him in the best light. Although his tomfoolery occurred over 20 years ago, that hasn't stopped people from wanting him cancelled. Kandi Burruss, who has written for JT's band *NSYNC (as well as Christina Aguilera, TLC, and Destiny’s Child to name the few), thinks the clip of Michelle Williams mimicking JT's black accent (when speaking to black artists) was actually quite funny. Over the weekend during Bravocon, she said people should “leave him alone,” as he was young at the time. Plus, he was one of the more charming artists that she actually worked with.

“I thought it was funny. I don’t want anybody to, like, [put] down Justin because you’ve got to remember the times that we were going through at the time. That era of pop and R&B, it was a lot of boy bands that did, like, urban music, urban routines and dancing, the whole image. That was in at the time, and nobody was passing judgment.” She adds: “Right now I feel like everything we used to do back in the day people are getting canceled for now. At that time nobody knew it was like a problem.”

Justin Timberlake turned his back on *NSYNC for the best part of two decades. He blew up to phenomenal heights. He didn't need them. RollingStone, laughably, pegged him the new King of Pop. And every time he did interviews and was asked about an *NSYNC reunion, the irritation and disgust was always visible, like those members were dog sh*t he had trod on that he desperately wanted to wipe off. I remember those interviews all too well. His band mates remained stagnant for many years. Nobody viewed them as stars although JC Chasez was the better singer by far. But they always held on to hope. They always prayed that one day they would all get back together with Justin. Fast forward to today when it finally happens, and Justin is cancelled by Britney Spears’ book! That is just some next level karma if ever I've seen it!
