Paula Abdul is facing some serious ridicule on social media after she posted a heavily filtered photo to Instagram that made her look decades younger than her real age. The 60-year-old dancer and singer hosted a star-studded holiday party while standing next to Kathy Hilton.

Jennifer Lopez and Madonna have all toyed with the same filter in the past. Actually a lot of celebs have done this and that's fine if the odd tweak generates a more youthful but realistic appearance. But using it to look like a teenager? Oh that time out is so necessary! The crazy thing about it is that even with the lines and the crow feet, Paula Abdul is still a very attractive woman. There really wasn't any need for her to do this.

Self image dysphoria is a problem that’s crushing people. Social media is definitely to blame and before that it was magazines and their excessive airbrushing. Sadly, we live in a narcissist era where everything is all about angles, filters, TikTok, Instagram, and Snaps which ultimately creates this false sense of security.
