Yikes. Rihanna doesn't just crush those hopes. She DESTROYS them. While answering questions at a press junket for her Savage x Fenty Vol. 4 show, Rihanna told The Associated Press that her upcoming Super Bowl performance does not necessarily mean a new album is coming any time soon. As a matter of fact, she kind of shuts it down. New music of sorts is coming she says, but that's not the news we wanted to hear.

At this point why anybody cares so much is beyond me - you’d think her music is comparable to the second coming of Jesus Christ the way you people fornicate over her but newsflash - it really isn’t all that. Aside from “Umbrella” and “We Found Love” I think her music is rather forgettable.
Rih’s got something planned and I think it’s a compilation album of sorts that’ll include 2-3 new songs including Lift Me Up. Maybe perhaps a #1’s collection is coming? A greatest hits campaign that’ll lead to the new album era. It has been near 7 years since she released new music and though she’s a big name she has to inch her way back into the muddy music industry.
Almost seems like she is nervous about releasing new music. I think the industry is in shambles because of Tik Tok and the death of physical album sales.
