With Elon Musk taking complete ownership of Twitter, hate speech (now masked as ❝free speech❞) has now become a home on the platform. Reportedly, Donald Trump's permanently suspended Twitter account will be reinstated on Monday. Not only that, Kanye West’s Twitter account was also reactivated by Musk after he was banned for his anti-semitism. Celebrities are on edge now. Some of them choosing to post less. R&B veteran Toni Braxton says she will no longer be using the platform here on out as it is no longer safe for herself, her children and black people. Twitter used to be a safe haven for all of us, and now we are stuck with this parasite who somehow feels a platform used for terrorism will be profitable.
I'm shocked and appalled at some of the "free speech" I've seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of "free speech" is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC.
