Being a young mother is challenging. I mean, it's not all the time most of us will get it right. Sometimes a woman just wants to let off steam and forget even for one night that she's a mom. In a new Instagram post, Britney Spears reveals she was slapped by her mother Lynne once because she partied til 4am while her kids were home. At the time, her youngest son Jayden was just two months old in November 2006 when she made the ill fated decision to go out partying with Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan during their alleged crack binging era. Later on down the line, she ended up losing custody of her kids. And as much as I hate to say it, my mother would have had the exact same reaction (or worse because black mothers especially the West Indian ones just don't play like that). Actually, a lot of mothers would have slapped the sh*t out of their daughters under those circumstances. I once heard my mom hitting my teenage sister for coming home late (not slaps, but actual punches), and screaming at her for ❝reeking of weed and sex.❞ Tina slapped her teenage daughter Beyoncé for saying something slick because she was feeling herself a little too much.
Basically, a reaction like that is a mom's way of slapping some sense into their child and making them see the error of their ways, although I don't believe in hitting your kids no matter how old they are. But I get it. Unfortunately for Ms Spears, this story isn't giving what she thought it was.
