In the June/July 2022 issue of ELLE, Doja Cat reveals her next album will be predominantly rap. It must have burned her heart heavy to hear Remy Ma say she is not a rapper. That must really hurt because she can actually rap. It is like Trick Daddy saying a while back that Beyoncé can't sing. It also doesn't help her case that she is getting nominated in the all the R&B and pop categories (and not the rap ones.) Her genre-blending sound incorporates R&B, hip-hop, and pop. However, it seems she now wants to be taken more seriously as a rapper and plans to ditch the pop girl tag altogether.
