Adele serves up a spoken preview of what to expect from her new album in Vogue.
The lead single 'Easy On Me' is described as "a gut-wrenching piano ballad," while another track is said to ooze '70s vibes, with heavy strings and heavier lyrics. One tune is defined as "cathartic, a soulful promise of new love," while the fourth song is "downright upbeat." The next is "a joyous anthem over gospelly organs." The last cut to be previewed is a jazzy, "string-swirling" affair with Judy Garland influences. Marvin Gaye’s 'What’s Going On' also serves as a “very big reference” on the album. She credits Tyler, the Creator and Skepta for inspiring her to incorporate voice notes. Other production credits include Max Martin, Shellback, Ludwig Göransson, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Greg Kurstin. There are no artist features on the project. See some quotes below.
