MTV exclusively confirm to Bazaar.com that Normani will officially perform her latest single 'Wild Side' at the VMAs on Sunday (September 12th). Of course this is good news but it came at the expense of a number of factors. Lorde backing out at the last minute for instance.
This meant that they had a spare performance slot so she was second choice to another artist. Secondly, she had to publicly BEG and her fans were relentlessly lighting up MTV's ass on a daily basis. Needless to say, a sympathy slot is certainly better than none! Hopefully, she uses this opportunity to keep the momentum going and not wait too long to release the follow-up single.

I'm happy for her. But I'm not liking the narrative being painted that she begged or got a sympathy slot.
But one thing is for sure, Normani is going to deliver. I just hope she keeps it up after this.
