According to a popular pop culture website, a casting reportedly went out this week for a Mariah Carey performance set to take place at the VMAs on September 12th. She is rumoured to perform 'Hero' as a 9/11 20th anniversary tribute, although nothing has been officially confirmed...

This would be such a touching tribute... if someone put a gun to Jill E. Beans head and ordered her to SANG. But Mariah would probably lip sync for dear life during this performance, since she's grown a phobia of singing live at award shows. Secondly, she probably doesn't want to get slaughtered for delivering subpar vocals towards such an important tribute.
