Today is a milestone birthday for Grammy-winning icon Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. For the singer is 40 years old today. She's accomplished so much in her prolific career, becoming one of the world's biggest superstars and tour pullers. I don't know about you lot, but I'm going to be playing the ironically-titled 'B'Day' in heavy rotation today.
'B'Day' is one of my favourite albums from her. The record was praised by critics and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 selling 541,000 copies in pure sales first week! It went on to be certified 3x Platinum, earning six Grammy noms, including one win. She had just turned 25 and wanted to commemorate the occasion with this project. The vocals, the live instrumentation, the soul influences... such a flawless record. Fast forward to 15 years later, and it is still just as flawless as ever. Happy milestone birthday, Ms Knowles-Carter!

My favorite song on Bday was sugar mama. I loved the tour too! Beyonce was at her best then and I miss that era. Happy bday Bey!

I agree, the B-Day era was the best! Both the album as well as the tour!
I remember when B'Day came out, it was a good commercial success BUT it had mixed reactions. Looking back & now listening to it today, it definitely aged extremely well. And Yup, The Beyonce Experience Tour was what birthed the touring giant she is today.
