Britney Spears’ iconic VMAs performance of ❝Slave 4 U❞ turns 20-years-old...

It has been 20 years since Britney Spears shook the world at the 2001 MTV VMAs with her iconic performance of 'I’m a Slave 4 U.' The 19-year-old entered the stage locked in a cage with a tiger and later danced with an albino Burmese Python named Banana around her neck. The performance is considered one of the biggest pop culture moments of all time, although I considered her VMAs performance the year before to be more shocking. 

She stripped down to a nude two piece while performing 'Oops!… I Did It Again,' and it was the first time we saw  innocent "virginal" Britney truly rebelling. Britney was the Queen of VMAs back then. She kicked ass and was untouchable. She gave us a real reason to anticipate VMAs season. I would have college the next day but my ass was not going to miss a Britney performance for no one. Nowadays it's all about going to bed early and catching up on performances the next day on YouTube, because Award season is not what it use to be 20 years ago.
