Beyoncé promotes Chlöe Bailey’s new single ❝Have Mercy❞ in rare Instagram Stories post...
Beyoncé just basically said she is slowly passing the torch by posting Chlöe Bailey in a rare Instagram Stories. Beyoncé posts NOBODY or anything on Instagram Stories. Never uses it. Hardly ever. Yet, she took everyone by surprise when she used it today to promote her protege and impersonator Chlöe Bailey’s new single, “Have Mercy.” Beyoncé also promoted Chlöe on her website beyonce.com, which serves as serious promotion for the solo newbie. That's good and all but she is a day late and a dollar short. Chlöe's song dropped a week ago.
I think the Beyonce comparisons are over-exaggerated. B was her mentor and signed her and Halle, so she's always going to have that association. But Have Mercy doesn't sound like any Beyonce song I know of, and the video, styling and choreography isn't dissimilar from anything Normani, Doja Cat, Tinashe etc are doing at the moment. I think the problem is just a lack of individual identity amongst today's generation in general. That's why I love FKA Twigs, she doesn't sound or look like anybody else, and her visuals are always a work of art as opposed to generic twerk-fests riddled with occult symbolism.
ReplyDeleteThat was SMART for Beyonce to promote her single in the 2nd week... She let Chloe did all the promotion the 1st week...
ReplyDeleteWhy is every single Chloe post written in such a negative light. She is a new solo artist still finding her footing. You’re not even allowing the time to come into her own. It’s literally only been a week.
ReplyDeleteSaying she's an impersonator is a BIG stretch. When I hear this song I dnt hear Bey AT ALL. Musically they are worlds apart. Ungodly Hour proves this. Even image wise, they are nothing alike, Chloe rocks her natural locks......

ReplyDeleteBeyonce isn't a day late and a dollar short of anything. She knows exactly what she's doing by making Chloe's career take flight on it's own without having to co-sign for additional impact. The'Have Mercy'music video has 13 million views, is trending at #2 on YouTube and is still the #1 single on the iTunes R&B charts. Give credit where credit is due. I remember well over a decade ago when Rihanna first came out with 'Pon de Replay' you referred to her image back then as a carbon copy Beyonce and now look...she's a billionaire and an ICON who has created her own empire. Please stop degrading black women. You are in no shape or form to criticize anyone's work, but since we're doing that how about you spruce up this tired looking blog. You've literally had the same layout since the early 2000's
ReplyDeleteMy god today. The SHADE this person just GAVE. #FixItJesus
