Monica announces her first album in five years. Her ninth studio album 'Trenches' will drop November 20th. It precedes the title track featuring Lil Baby and will feature additional production from the Neptunes. The announcement follows Monica’s epic 'Verzuz' battle with Brandy, which broke all Verzuz' records, with more than 6 million views. Exciting times for Monica fans. Myself included.

I hope she ditches the ghetto/hoodrat trend that occupied Code Red. At her age, I’m expecting more mature records. There are no “legacy” records or albums for Monica. I’m rooting for her, but I know she will disappoint again.
