In her new memoir, Mariah Carey reveals that she worked on a rock album with the rock band Chick around the period of her ‘Daydream’ sessions in 1995.
She was recording ‘Daydream’ by day and a
very different album by night. During dark times, she found solace in playing with the style of the breezy-grunge, punk-light female singers who were popular at that time. I'm relieved that this was just done for sh*ts and giggles, and I truly hope it stays in the vault. Some things the world just doesn't need to hear. Sorry, lambs.
Fun fact: I did an alternative album while I was making Daydream 👀 Just for laughs, but it got me through some dark days. Here's a little of what I wrote about it in #TheMeaningOfMariahCarey 🤟 S/O to my friend Clarissa who performs the lead w/ me as a hidden layer #Chick #TMOMC pic.twitter.com/Re23t5whcd

It sounds good I’m piqued to hear it...I remember in a interview during that era she was listening to grunge band Hole a lot and how she love how free Courtney Love was with her image
