Thirty years ago today, Mariah Carey released her debut single, 'Vision Of Love.' It launched her career and she became one of the most iconic and best-selling artists in music history.
Mariah recorded this song when she was 17/18. Back when she was being marketed to the same audience as Shania Twain and Celine Dion. I treasure all of MC's music. However, I never became fully enabled with her until that 'Daydream' album in 1995. When she released 'Butterfly' in 1997 (which saw her go full fledged R&B with a much sexier image post divorce) I became diehard, and you couldn't tell me NOTHING. I was ready to slit throats.
