Kehlani’s debut album 'It Was Good Until It Wasn’t' debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 83,000 units (25,000 pure sales).
Respectable numbers for an R&B debut, but then she's been doing the cheated girlfriend PR lately, and it's working. She has a few songs on her album detailing her short lived relationship with YG. And as we all know, an artist going through real life heartbreak and emotionally puts it through lyrically becomes relatable to an audience (see prime time Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole and Adele).
This is the highest any project of hers has peaked. It also serves as her biggest sales week ever. The album has some nice cuts, and I root an underdog. She's not the best singer, but she's definitely passionate about the music.
