Beyoncé's dad backtracks on sexual harrassment comments.

Knowles lands himself in hot water.
Mathew Knowles has backtracked on comments he made alleging two members of the R&B group Jagged Edge sexually harassed his daughters Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland. Those two members were identified as Richard Wingo and Kyle Norman. The group's twin lead singers Brandon and Brian Casey were in relationships with Destiny's Child members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett at the time. As to be expected, Jagged Edge reportedly threatened legal action, prompting Mathew to do a 360. "I feel the need to clarify that I did not say the girls were sexually harassed while on tour with Jagged Edge in the 2000s. I said 'harassed'" he explained to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six. "The term 'sexual harassment' may imply to some to mean physical advances. I would classify the harassment they encountered more as unwelcome and inappropriate remarks to minors from adults who should have known better."

Jagged Edge actually responded in some now deleted Instagram posts telling fans that they did in deed consult legal counsel. Beyoncé and Kelly, as expected, have not responded to the allegations. There would be no backtracking if JE did not fight back. Mathew was more than happy to have everyone thinking two members of JE sexually harrassed his daughters due to this fitting his controversial narrative. As irresponsible as that was, controversy sells and he knew it. No, he didn't use the word "sexually" harrassed, but this was heavily implied and he didn't wish to correct it. But JE was not going to let their name be tarnished like that. Because in an era of 'Me Too,' such allegations (especially if false) can prove very damaging to someone's career and reputation.
