Taking a break from her gushy social media posts of marital bliss, Alicia Keys performed at City of Hope’s Spirit of Life gala in Cali last night. She was among more than 1,200 artists and music industry executives who came together to honour Epic Records chairman/CEO Sylvia Rhone. Alicia's performance was a collaborative effort with Sara Bareilles singing her smash hit, 'If I Ain’t Got You.' Sometimes it's easy to forget Alicia had some of these gems under her belt. I know that's a really shitty thing to say, but it's been a hot minute since I've been able to drown myself in her music.
City of Hope are known for their groundbreaking contributions towards the health justice system in the black community. They work to ensure people of colour receive standard health care, with research primarily based on finding the genetic link between the African-American community and the higher rates of cancer.
