Beyoncé won't be able to "buy" a Grammy this year because she got snubbed in all the major categories. 2018 was so interesting, because she released a joint album with Jay Z and nobody cared. In 2016, she embarked on a massive PR kick with 'Lemonade' around the cheating scandal, and everyone listened because who doesn't love a good scandal? Then her and Jay worked out their issues, released an album together to promote their "strong bond" again and it didn't make for very compelling listening. We were over it, already. Her name was nowhere to be seen in the Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year categories. These are categories she once reigned supreme in. Her joint album 'Everything Is Love' was nominated in 3 categories such as Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Music Video for 'APESH*T' and Best R&B Performance for 'Summer.'
That joint album made my ears bleed so I can't say I'm upset about the snub. Bey should just stop trying to make Jay Z happen. He doesn't pull in half the interest she does. Honestly, nobody wants a joint album from them. They better not 'part 2' this shit. No one is here for it. We want a Beyoncé album, and hopefully, that point has been pitched across strongly enough.
