She also performed 'Lose Yourself', the initial single she spoke about last year in her Harper Baazar interview. I'm not really liking anything I'm hearing if this new album is anything to go by. Sure, she's putting out songs with catchy hooks, but the music is very mash potato without gravy. Just straight up tasteless and dry. The songs are very teeny bopper-ish and not indicative of grown woman music at all. Still, I won't write off the project just yet. We know she has what it takes to bring the fire. Ashanti and Ja Rule were the best thing since sliced bread 15+ years ago (lol). Their collabs were hot, and they couldn't go wrong. I just don't think anyone is trying to hear new music from them in 2018, especially if they're not delivering! Ashanti is expected to drop a new album later on in the year.
