The song is generally about black women that are forced to compromise their cultural identity for mainstream acceptance. Even if her intention wasn't to blatantly diss the Kardashians, she still pretty much insinuated that they were guilty of appropriating black culture. (“I wish I could be a Kardashian so I could be Black.”) Girl, just let your artistry do the talking.
I see some blogs trying to make My song "Kim K"messy, lord if u only knew how fly I think she is! People are me would tell u. The statement behind the song is black Women are rarely given credit for our cultural trends and flyness.— K. Michelle (@kmichelle) December 4, 2017
Truths can be spoken without a shade tree behind them. For ages Black women have been taught by society that our image isn't good enough for mainstream or that we need to make changes. I believed them and made those SOME of those changes, only 2 regret it.— K. Michelle (@kmichelle) December 4, 2017
The older I got I started to see that women of other ethnicities were being accepted for and African American women were told no 2 big asses, cornrolls, long pointy finger nails(which was taking place before we were born-its tribal) and other cultural aesthetics.— K. I remember being told that I couldn't wear braids by my Caucasian vocal coach to talent shows because I wouldn't win because it wasn't a polished look!— K. Michelle (@kmichelle) December 4, 2017
Also in the song I say I gotta fuck with Blac Chyna, because regardless of what you say she's made a way for herself, and its crazy how when other people do what they do it's classic but when we do it it's ratchet.— K. Michelle (@kmichelle) December 4, 2017
The Judgmental are usually the ones who need the most judgment! Don't shot the messenger, I just write life. I write about the world we are living in. My writing isn't scripted it's just facts. Which I never understood artist who don't actual write.— K. Michelle (@kmichelle) December 4, 2017
