JoJo, who released her 'Mad Love' album on Atlantic Records last October, recently announced her new imprint Clover Music. This is also a joint venture with Interscope Records. Good news, as this indicates she will be more in control when recording her next album. It also means she retains ownership of her masters and potentially stands to make more profit on her new music once released. Personally, I believe she needs to hook up with producers that can give her the correct sound for her talent. 'Mad Love' wasn't terrible. Buuutttt... what I will say is that it was very cookie cutter safe, and did not match the quality of her mixtapes at all.
More importantly, she needs to serve up a really great R&B album. I fear her commercial days as a critically acclaimed artist might be over, as Ariana Grande has stepped in and made a niche for herself while she was away. I hope I'm wrong, because her career deserves to be much bigger than what it is right now.
