All this video did was show that Gaga can still be normal and Rock & Roll while throwing a frenetic desert rager. She is even dressed in normal clothing. Shock! Being normal hasn't really increased the general public's interest though. Let's face it, no one is really here for stripped back Gaga. It would appear her success depends solely on craziness and being eccentric. Perhaps she's grown up? After all, she only just turned 30 this year and probably doesn't want to carry out this crazy chick schtick for much longer. While, it's cool to tone things down, that doesn't serve as an excuse not to give fans something interesting visually. The video just doesn't have the replay value that the song desperately needs right now.
'Perfect Illusion' debuted at No.15 on the Billboard Hot 100 after shifting 100,000 copies in its first week on sale. Meanwhile, Gaga will release her new album 'Joanne' on October 21st.
