I know I might catch flack for this but I have never watched an episode of 'Empire.' I certainly don't intend to start now just because Mariah Carey will officially join the third season of the Lee Daniels show.MC will play Kitty, a “mega-superstar who comes to Empire to collaborate with Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) on an explosive new song.” When the duet encounters obstacles, Kitty “helps Jamal dig deep to overcome personal difficulties and reach a musical breakthrough.” The once popular series returns September 21st on Fox, with Mariah's episode airing on October 5th. I honestly don't know about this. MC seems to have this knack of joining shows that are on the decline (see 'American Idol'). The good news? We're going to hear a new song from her and she won't be forced to wear a garbage wig and a mustache.
