As Beyoncé gets ready to kick off her 'Formation' world tour later tonight, here's your latest news round-up!
May as well cram it all in one post since it's all 'Lemonade' related! Beyoncé's new album 'Lemonade' became available for download on iTunes and Amazon this week. Sony sources say they're expecting first day sales of 200k, with the project possibly doing between 500k-600k first week. May 6th is being eyed for the physical release. However, Tidal will have a permanent exclusive on the streaming front.
The album went to #1 on iTunes in over 90 countries. Her latest single 'Formation,' also topped iTunes (and overtaking Prince‘s ‘Purple Rain’) despite the Mike-Will produced cut being made available for free on Tidal two months ago. As of writing, the song is still #1 on iTunes. The 'Becky' drama on Bey's 'Lemonade' track 'Sorry' continues to be never ending! Rapper Iggy Azalea has slammed the term 'Becky' as a negative stereotype towards white women. Do you agree? Her 'Lemonade' special on HBO only attracted 787,000 viewers despite the network airing it for free and the album visual receiving week long promotion (including massive promo plastered all over Times Square.) Provided that the music and tour is selling, it's not really a big deal. Who's ready for the tour?!?!
