Tamar Braxton has issues with Rihanna’s R&B Grammy nomination...

Here's something to debate. Rihanna was previously nominated at the Grammys for Best R&B Album, and the ever outspoken Tamar Braxton doesn't agree with it. She says Rihanna isn't worthy of it because she is pop.
A lot of people may agree with her up until that point, but apparently, Beyoncé is someone she considers more R&B. Hmmmm. In my honest opinion, Rihanna and Beyoncé release the SAME type of music. Bey is no less a pop star than Rihanna is.

Her words via a visit to the Angie Martinez Show on Power 105.1 are below:
I had an issue with Rihanna being nominated at the Grammys for Best R&B Album. She doesn’t sing R&B music. She is a Pop star. You know what I’m saying? I had an issue with that a little bit. I love her though. [In response to “what makes something R&B”] It’s called Rhythm and Blues. Ribs and Barbecue. It’s not twerk music. It’s soulful. That’s R&B music. Every song of [Rihanna’s] that I’ve got my complete and utter life to has been (while) twerking. I love her and I’m one of her biggest fans period, but that’s not R&B music. Beyonce, for me, is more R&B than what Rihanna music would be considered.
This argument has been run into the ground over and over. How many times are we going to keep hearing it? Rihanna releases pop SINGLES but her albums have always been mostly urban. Secondly, if Tamar wants her argument to have stronger standing, then don't use Beyoncé as the poster child for R&B music. Her argument would have had genuine validation had she mentioned the criminally underrated Tamia who actually puts out authentic R&B albums.
