From choosing to break away from major labels to release her music independently, it just wouldn't make sense for Ashanti to join Hip Hop label YMCMB. Sure, she may have done it with Hip Hop label Murder Inc, but that was during a different time when R&B actually sold well and she had no problem selling records. Recently, she sat down with VladTV and briefly spoke on past rumors that she’s been
in talks to join the label. She definitely had the conversations with
Baby about joining the label, and she's currently talking to Lil Wayne as
well, though nothing has been set in stone right now. I'm more shocked that she's taken the time to consider it. Never mind entertain it. YMCMB is a Hip Hop based label and clearly, they have no idea what to do with R&B/pop singers. Christina Milian has been with them since 2012 and guess what? We're now into 2015 with no album in sight.
