Rihanna's out, Katy Perry's in. According to Billboard exclusively, Perry has been confirmed as the performer for the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show next year, doing a 15-minute set at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Perry will be under great pressure to deliver. Bruno Mars broke halftime ratings with his performance earlier this year.
It became the most watched performance in Super Bowl history with 111.5 million viewers. Madonna’s 2012 show follows in second place and Beyoncé is right behind her for the 2013 show. Perry will also follow in the footsteps of U2, Prince and Michael Jackson. An official announcement has yet to be made from the NFL.
The difference with those performers mentioned is that they can perform amazingly and put on a stunning show. Katy is a horrible performer. Have you seen her performances? On top of that, she is not a great singer. So, if you can't sing or perform well, what exactly are we going to get?!?! I'm also confused, as last week, she was caught on camera saying she wouldn't pay to perform at the Superbowl, unless they negotiated something or the label coughed up? Hmmmm... this should have been Usher's moment. I am soooo disappointed. I suppose I will be on Twitter that night reloading my plate and drinking soda to witness the online slaughter.
