The partnership will see their company, Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd, produce an athletic streetwear brand, which could launch in stores and online in fall 2015 at the earliest.
The Topshop-Beyoncé collection will encompass clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports categories, targeting women who go to yoga or the health club, as well as those who just want to look as if they do. “This is not a collaboration. This is about building a brand and building a business — a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office,” Topshop owner Sir Philip Green told WWD in an interview Sunday. “I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business. I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking,” said Beyoncé. “Working with their development team to create and produce a technical and fashion led collection is exciting and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”
