Team Breezy really stepped up for Chris Brown. His new album 'X' entered at #2 on the Billboard 200 selling 146,000 copies in the first week.
Unfortunately, he could not keep up with the 196,000 copies pushed by Barbra Streisand, who scored the top spot with her 'Partners' album. But despite not gaining the #1 spot, these are still respectable numbers for Chris.
It marks his best sales week since 2011's 'F.A.M.E.' opened with 270,000 units. His last album 'Fortune' debuted at #1 with 135,000 copies. The fact that his numbers have improved from the last round is positive progress.
Needing to add, every single album of his has never sold less than 100K in its debuting week. Barbra also had the upper hand in sales because for one week both Amazon and iTunes were selling her album at the sale price of $7.99, whereas CB's album sold at full price ($14.99). His album was double the price and he still managed to push these numbers so good for him.
