Watch: Mariah Carey performs ‘Meteorite’ at World Music Awards...
Back in May, Mariah Carey taped a performance of 'Meteorite' at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. Why it is being broadcast three months later is a real travesty because her album was desperately in need of the promo. So dumb! The Q-Tip-produced disco jam is lifted off her fabulous latest album 'Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.'
Given the nature of the song, the performance (which was mimed for the most part) was like a scene from the 80s with the disco balls and roller skating dancers. Not the type of performance where she could actually boast about "inspiring some upcoming stars" but hey, she's still Mariah after all. The diva of all divas was also presented with the Pop Icon Award for selling over 200 million records and having more #1 singles in the States than any other solo artist.
