A collaboration between Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande sounds good on paper. But once executed, the result is just... okay. The three of them appear on 'Bang Bang,' which has just surfaced, and let's just say, it's not as amazing as it could have been.
The retro-inspired song consists of a clap-heavy beat, massive power
pop production, and blaring horns, all courtesy of Max Martin, Savan
Kotecha, and Ilya. The track serves as the first single from Jessie J’s third album, and
will also be included on the deluxe edition of Ariana’s sophomore
album, 'My Everything', due August 25th.
Hmmm... This one is a grower I think. Perhaps a bit too high school musical and congested in part, so I don't see a reason why teenyboppers wouldn't get behind it. Jessie J over-sings too much and Ariana's lack of enunciation is a head sore. What's new, aye? Nicki Minaj's verse was the best part. According to HITS Daily Double, the trio will perform the song at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in L.A. on August 24th.
