New 'Aaliyah' actress signed for biopic...

Nickelodeon actress Alexandra Shipp, 23, has been signed to play Aaliyah in the upcoming Lifetime biopic. Her signing comes after Zendaya Coleman dropped out last month. Wendy Williams, who will now serve as executive producer, announced the news today on Facebook. Despite Aaliyah’s family reportedly hiring a lawyer to halt the movie, production begins later this month and premieres this fall.
The script is based off Christopher Farley’s best-selling biography 'Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.' Personally, I thought they were going to leave this well alone but they're really determined to make this movie happen. It's going ahead regardless. Your thoughts on the new actress though? I can't say. I've never watched anything she's been in. In fact, I have never heard her name until now. So, here's her chance to set an impression, and hopefully a positive one.
