Mariah Carey signs new songwriting deal with SESAC...

Following the release of her critically acclaimed new album 'Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse,' SESAC makes the announcement today that they've signed Mariah Carey to their family of songwriters. Basically, this just means she will receive more publishing royalties for her work while tapping into broader audiences.

In deed, a financial win for MC given that she's amassed most of her $500,000 million fortune as a prolific songwriter. And sure, call me cynical but on a fan standpoint, this can hardly be deemed the most amazing news. Not when this should have been an announcement citing a brand new management deal instead. Then we as supporters, can have a real reason to pop the corks.
