Mariah Carey's new album 'Chanteuse' has poor predicted first week sales...

It has been predicted by Chart News that Mariah Carey's new album 'Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse' is only set to sell a paltry 65k-70k in its first week. Still, she has a chance at going to #1 despite these disappointing predicted sales (we shall compare this with HDD's predicted sales shortly).

No matter how good the album is, MC was never going to sell major because she didn't have a hit record to her name. I was still hoping she would at least clock 150K. The fact that she couldn't even manage HALF of this speaks volumes. Hopefully, the album is a slow burner and positive word of mouth (alongside right selection of singles) will drive the album to pick up decent sales in the long run. The battle may be lost but the war has yet to be won.

UPDATE: Hits Daily Double are predicting 60-65K.
