Rita made her bold admission in Paper magazine's ‘Beautiful People Issue’ where she serves as their latest cover girl.
“It’s obviously a very important song to me because it’s a love song, but it reminds you of Whitney [Houston]. And that was the vibe we were on. We just wanted to feel good. You know that feeling of ‘How Will I Know’ with the synth? It just makes you feel happy; that’s what I wanted to create.”I know vintage Whitney went through her pop phase but this song sounds nothing like a Whitney song. Rita's song sounds like the typical generic pop mush she's been putting out since her debut. She does not put out good songs so comparing her work to a legend is an insult. She also talks about her quest to conquer America, which I can't EVER see happening. She's like a hybrid of Jay Z's two main bitches. Why would America embrace a poor man's version with less star quality? She also confirms working with Prince and Macklemore for the new album, which sounds... respectful.
