Lady Gaga responds to Demi Lovato's criticisms...

During her set at SXSW in Austin last week, Lady Gaga had performance artist Millie Brown vomit on her. This attracted a lot of criticism, especially from Demi Lovato who once battled with bulimia. She accused Gaga of glamorising eating disorders. Gaga continued her strong defense of the performance to E! News on Friday.

Check out her very classy response below the fold.

Via E! News:
"I have struggled with an eating disorder for over 10 years and I take that very seriously, I take the struggle of others very seriously. I am very supportive of Demi's struggle and her recovery as well as the recovery of anyone who is suffering from that. But this performance had absolutely nothing to do with any eating disorder, and we never intended for it to be taken that way. I'm really proud of the performance and really stand by the message of rage and pain that we were trying to express in that moment."
Speaking to Today's Savannah Guthrie, Gaga said of the backlash: "For us, that performance was art in its purest form. But we totally understand that some people won't be into it". Anything deemed disgusting can never be seen as art in its "purest" form in my opinion. You can sprinkle diamonds on a turd of poo but no matter how you dress it up, the thing will never look pretty. The same applies.
