'Beyoncé' remains #1 on Billboard 200, selling 310K copies in its 3rd week...

Even after the shock value has subsided, Beyoncé's self-titled new album continues to sell extremely well. It enjoys a third week at #1 on the Billboard 200, and accomplishes the longest run at #1 for any album since last April. The project has sold another 310K in its third week totaling its Stateside sales at 1.3 million in its first 17 days of release.

The LP is also the first album to spend three weeks at #1 since Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience' and becomes the first album by a woman to score three weeks at #1 since Taylor Swift's 'Red'. The project is also the first album since 2009 to sell more than 300,000 copies in each of its first three weeks. ('Beyoncé' debuted with 617,000, then sold 374,000 a week ago). 'Beyoncé' is the fastest-selling album by a woman since Taylor's 'Red', which sold 1.6 million in its first two weeks. It became the last #1 album of 2013 and becomes the first #1 album of 2014. Nice work given that she has yet to do any television performances.
