Oops... Britney Spears lip-syncs to 17-year-old self during Vegas kick-off...

Back in September, Britney Spears and her team had made strong declarations that she was going to sing live. However, rich fans that forked out hundreds of dollars to watch the opening show of her 'Piece of Me' Vegas residency certainly didn't get the live singing that Britney had promised. Instead, they were treated to unflattering leotards, painted abs, and stiff movements/awkward transitions, although this is the best she has moved since that tragic 'Femme Fatale' mess.

We can maybe chalk it down to first night jitters. But it still doesn't excuse the fact that she was caught lip-syncing to old vocals recorded during her teenage years. Her earlier songs have now become classics to a point where people know every note in and out, so it was weird seeing her mime to her adolescent self. She could have at least pre-recorded those vocals to make them sound realistic, rather than go the lazy (appropriately easy) route. We get that for over a decade she's never sung live especially for the uptempo numbers (due to previous intense choreography). But what was her excuse for lip-syncing all of the ballads? Tutt, tutt. On the plus side, at least she remixed some of the older songs and delivered giant, spectacular production to obscure everything else that was not so great. Would you pay hundreds of dollars to watch THIS shit? Check out some footage from her opening night below.
