According to Hits Daily Double, Tamar Braxton's new album ‘Love & War’ charted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with opening sales of 117,555 copies.However, she was trumped to the top spot by Ariana Grande's 'Yours Truly' which sold 135,650 units. Who cares about the rumours that Tamar's husband brought a good portion for her to even compete. It's not illegal and every sale counts at the end of the day. Even if he had, at least it creates further curiousity in the project and encouraging non-fans to check it out.
Great marketing tactic if ya ask me that may very well pay off in the long run. This week has been a great one for R&B releases. In fact, I don't think I've seen a commercial chart battle in this particular genre for a good while. And they say R&B is dead huh?
