The cut, co-written by the girls themselves, and produced by Future Cut, now features a new verse from the legendary Missy Elliott! Take a listen to the track below, which samples De La Soul’s ‘Ring Ring Ring’ and will feature on the Stateside edition of their debut album. The funk-filled production is full of oldschool 90s tease dating back to 20 years ago. ‘How Ya Doin’?' also has a nice blend of girl-band pop and R&B giving the song that added appeal. Some of the changes were necessary and Missy's no-nonsense verses were very cohesive with the dismissive tune itself. I thought this was a strange choice for a single at first. Other songs on 'DNA' are far more radio-friendly and given that their last single 'Change Your Life' only peaked outside of the top 10 (#12), better choices were expected. Not a bad song in any case, but nothing about it screams out at you. Still, who knows where this one will end up after a video premiere and some TV performances...
