Ahead of the September 10th release of her new album 'The Electric Lady', Janelle Monáe debuts 'Primetime', her hotly anticipated collab with Miguel.
Being in love truly is a sweet thing as this song points out, and the eclectic pair are not shying away from their love. The sultry number, interpolates the Pixies’ 'Where Is My Mind?' and serves Prince realness via the 'Purple Rain' era. 'Primetime' is a nice mix of R&B and futuristic funk, thanks to a booming beat and rippling guitar riffs.
Unfortunately, Janelle's chemistry to the music was not on par with Miguel's and she was clearly out of her comfort zone.
