New Music: Lady Gaga premieres ego-stroking new single ‘Applause’...

Following the leak of several snippets, Lady Gaga called for a “pop music emergency” and decided to release her new single 'Applause' one week ahead of schedule!

The track, produced by DJ White Shadow, received its first premiere on iHeartRadio earlier today. The song, lifted off her upcoming new album 'ARTPOP' (due November 11th) is dancey and upbeat, which we’ve come to expect from Gaga. The message is cocky and brash as she uses the reliance of an ego-stroking audience... to glorify her pop relevance.

While 'Applause' is catchy, and pays homage to 80's pop, there's nothing special, groundbreaking or different about it. The messy verses are warbly, and haunting to a point where she sounds like a mixture between Count Dracula and David Bowie, but at least the chorus is pretty boss. Everything else is a big fat miss. So on that generic note...
Thoughts?
