Lady Gaga's opening set at the VMAs wasn't as physically demanding as she made it out to be.
She took to the stage to perform her new single 'Applause' for the first time, which is lifted off her upcoming new album 'ARTPOP' (out Nov 11th). For the performance, she changed outfits and wigs multiple times, each wig representing a different era of her career. The boos at the beginning were also apart of her act as she was giving us a performance that had no spunk or attitude. For the most part, I liked the performance but I wasn't wowed by it in any way.
It certainly didn't have the quality or standard of an opening number but she did what needed to be done to sell the album.
